On a flush door simply start varnishing at the top and work your way to the bottom.
You can sand the old varnish off a very time consuming task.
Wearing protective gloves brush on the first coat of varnish evenly.
Or you can use chemical strippers to remove the layers of paint.
Apply the varnish to your door in long even strokes in the direction of the wood grain.
When varnishing a door start at the top and varnish in stages down to the bottom of the door unless you are varnishing a panelled door in which case varnish the panels individually first from top left to bottom right before varnishing the centre vertical panel the cross rails from top to bottom and then the outer edges.
If your wood door has an old paint finish or other kind of varnish that you want to remove there are a couple of options.
Step 6 allow to dry.
When using varnish it is important that you use a high quality paint brush that will prevent runs and lines from forming in your finish.
Allow each coat to dry and rub down the door between coats with fine sandpaper to.
